Presenters: Mark H. Shapiro, MD and Eduardo Zanatta, MBA

Biographies: Dr. Shapiro is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of California in San Diego, California. He also serves as the peritoneal dialysis medical director for DaVita’s San Marcos, Carmel Mountain, and Oceanside locations in California.

Mr. Zanatta is group home director for DaVita’s peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis programs in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Presentation Objectives:

  • Share demonstrated practices for peritoneal dialysis (PD) growth.
  • Understand how planned and urgent starts impact PD growth.
  • Learn about in-center hemodialysis to PD conversions.
