Tara Millson DNP, RN, CIC, FAPIC - Director of Infection Prevention George Washington University Hospital
Tara Millson is the Director of Infection Prevention at The George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC. Dr. Millson has extensive clinical experience in nursing and infection prevention in acute care and hemodialysis settings, as well as experience in public health surveillance at the CDC in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Millson is active with several professional organizations, serving as Vice Chair for the Practice Guidance Committee of the national Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), and serving on the Guidelines Committee of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). Dr. Millson was certified in infection control in 2016, earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Infection Prevention from Loyola University Chicago in 2018, and was named a Fellow of APIC in 2020.
The presenter will:
- Review key reasons for continued vigilance during the pandemic
- Describe signs of complacency in self and others
- Outline measures ot maintain preventive and protective focus during this stage of the pandemic
